FAQs about EMDR
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps you process and release past experiences that are keeping you stuck. Instead of months or years of therapy, EMDR intensives allow you to work through challenges in a focused, condensed format—giving you the relief you need without dragging out the process.
-
EMDR is exclusively offered in intensive format and is not covered by insurance.
-
Talk therapy usually involves exploring and discussing issues. EMDR focuses less on talking and more on reprocessing how memories are stored in the brain so they no longer trigger overwhelming distress.
Intensive Fees
Intensives are structured in half (3 hours) or full day (6 hours) sessions. Packages of multi-day programs are available and included in a customized treatment plan for your goals.
Intensive rates are typically $300-500/hour depending on your needs. Sessions are completely out-of-network. You may be elgible for partial reimbursement using out-of-network benefits.
Fees are based on your unique needs and program design. All fees are communicated in advance, in accordance with the No Suprises Act.
Intensive packages (intake session, 3-hour intensive session) start at $1,350.*
I offer free phone or Zoom consultations to discuss your needs and interest in a personalized intensive program.
*Current clients: if you’re looking to add on therapy intensives to their care, please note your rate will differ
Intensives are more cost effective… Let’s breakdown the math
Weekly therapy looks like:
10-15 minutes checking in since the last appointment
25-30 minutes of EMDR processing
10-15 minutes to wrap up and schedule your next session
Total time = 45-60 minutes, $225/session
You could spend months working through a single stressor in traditional therapy, easily paying nearly $1,000 for just 4 weeks of weekly sessions.
But here’s the thing: life doesn’t pause between appointments. From one week to the next, something new can come up that pulls your focus, leaving the original issue unresolved and pushing your relief further down the road.
Weekly therapy is a great option for long-term exploration and growth. But if what you need is targeted relief right now, it could mean spending thousands over multiple months before you feel the shift.
vs.
Intensive therapy includes:
10-15 MINUTES: checking in & establishing session focus
150-160 MINUTES: EMDR reprocessing and resourcing
10-15 MINUTES: wrapping up/ closing out the session
Total time =180 minute session
Cost? $1350
With a half-day intensive, you could completely resolve one or more stressors in just a few hours. Instead of spending weeks circling back to the same issue from different angles, you save not only money but also your most valuable resource—time. Most importantly, you get the relief you’ve needed.
In just 3 hours of EMDR processing, you can achieve the kind of breakthroughs that might take months of traditional talk therapy. Real results, in less time, with less cost.
It’s your chance to feel better, faster.
EMDR Intensives help you heal stressors quicker, safely…
while giving you back your time and money.
