Therapy for the Cultural Outliers
Welcome to Revolutionary Reflections
At Revolutionary Reflections, we created a space for POC (People of Color) and South Asians who feel like they don’t quite fit the mold.
Deeply rooted in cultural heritage, it can sometimes be hard to go against the grain of unspoken rules, expectations, and pressures, which can leave you feeling isolated—like a rule-breaker in your own community. The weight of these spoken and unspoken expectations can manifest as anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and emotional exhaustion. If you’ve ever felt unseen, misunderstood, or like an outsider, you’re not alone.
Here, we believe you deserve a space where you belong.
Some of us have a deep connection to our heritage, while others have a love-hate relationship with it—or struggle to find any connection at all. No matter where you are on this spectrum, we honor your experience. Together, we explore what it means to reclaim your identity, heal from cultural conditioning, and reconnect with yourself—on your own terms.
We Specialize in:
✔ Cultural Intersectionality – Navigating multiple identities and finding belonging without compromising yourself
✔ Self-Esteem, Anxiety & Identity – Explore self-worth, people-pleasing & perfectionism, & anxiety tied to personal/cultural expectations
✔ Trauma- Unraveling significant moments, childhood pain points, and intergenerational trauma
✔ Women’s Empowerment – Challenging status quo ways & reclaiming freedom of choice
✔ Breaking Generational Patterns – Prioritizing your choices and breaking through historical stories
✔ Guilt, Shame, & Depression – Releasing the weight of cultural obligation, self-doubt, and emotional exhaustion
✔ Non-Conforming Life Paths – Navigating relationships, careers, spirituality, and community beyond “tradition” and expectation
Our Philosophy: Now is the Perfect Time for You
There is no expiration date on growth, healing, or change. It’s never too late to create a life that feels free, authentic, and unapologetically yours.
If you’ve landed here, take this as your sign: this is your moment.
Challenging everything you’ve known your whole life is overwhelming. Questioning traditions, expectations, values, all might feel like a betrayal of you, family values, a rejection of culture.
Healing is not about rejection. It’s about choice—choosing what aligns with you, what brings you peace, and what allows you to be fully yourself.
This is a journey. Your journey.

About Surabhi
Hi there, I’m Surabhi—welcome!
I’m a licensed psychotherapist and relationship therapist specializing in helping South Asians and children of immigrants break free from cultural expectations and reclaim their power.
My mission? To help you release the weight of expectations, find true belonging, and create a life that feels authentically yours.
I know that trusting a stranger with the most intimate parts of your life is no small thing—I don’t take that for granted. Therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can be your true self without judgment. My goal is to make this process as seamless, empowering, and affirming as possible for you.
Taking the first step toward healing takes courage, and you’re already showing up for yourself just by being here.
Let’s Connect
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to chat. I offer a complimentary phone consultation, where we’ll talk about what you’re looking for in therapy and what you can expect when working with me.

Let’s Redefine the “Rules”
(You Don’t Need to Fit the Mold— Create Your Own)
Are you a South Asian American struggling with anxiety, family pressures, career stress, or relationship challenges? Maybe you’re a child of immigrants who has always felt caught between two worlds—never fully fitting in, either within your family or among other South Asians. Maybe your multicultural experience meant that every box felt uncheckable; this for you and everyone inbetween.
You want to live life on your own terms, but guilt and shame hold you back.
You feel like you’re constantly juggling between honoring your family’s wishes and following your own dreams—but you can never seem to make both work.
You go along with what your parents want, then resent yourself for betraying your true desires.
If any of this resonates, you are not alone.
At Revolutionary Reflections, we offer culturally informed therapy for South Asians in Texas, helping you break free from limiting beliefs while honoring the parts of your culture that truly align with you.
This is about understanding the cultural roles and expectations you grew up with—without letting them define you. You’re ready to live your life freely, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Therapy for South Asians Who Feel “In Between”
Whether you're in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, or anywhere in Texas, we provide specialized therapy for South Asians through a liberation-based approach that acknowledges the unique challenges of being caught between traditional South Asian values and modern American society.
We help with:
✔ Navigating cultural identity – Finding your place when you don’t fully relate to your family or peers
✔ Breaking generational cycles – Healing from ancestral wounds and unlearning limiting beliefs
✔ Parental and family expectations – Setting boundaries and learning to prioritize your needs
✔ Anxiety, stress & burnout – Managing the weight of always trying to “get it right”
✔ Career uncertainty & life direction – Figuring out what you actually want, beyond external expectations
✔ Relationships & marriage – Navigating love, family involvement, and societal pressures
✔ Racial discrimination & microaggressions – Processing the exhaustion of being othered
✔ Balancing Eastern & Western values – Finding a middle ground that actually feels good to you
We see you.
Maybe you’re the first in your family to challenge the norm, the one who thinks differently, loves differently or dreams differently. Maybe you don’t fit the version of success your community expects, and that’s been hard to reconcile.
Whatever your story, this is your space to be fully seen, fully heard, and fully yourself.
